Being introduced by what you do

Your old life is not the final word, Christ now lives in you.

Galatians 2:20

Being introduced by what you do. This is the kind of moment that can expose what has really been running underneath. Much of this may be outside your control. What remains yours is what you agree with and what you bring honestly to Jesus Christ. Achievement and failure are both too small to name you. Jesus Christ is the One with authority to name you. Do the next thing that faithfulness requires. Then release the part that belongs to God.

What response feels automatic in this situation? What would obedience to Jesus Christ look like instead?

Jesus Christ, I release my demand to control how this situation ends. Show me what is truly mine to steward and help me trust You with the rest. Amen.
