When a good opportunity is not your opportunity

Many plans can live in a person's heart, but the Lord's purpose stands.

Proverbs 19:21

When a good opportunity is not your opportunity. Nobody puts that on a vision board, but people live it every day. Catch the conclusion forming underneath your first reaction. Slow awareness gives truth a chance to interrupt the pattern. Clarity is helpful, but total certainty is not the standard for obedience. Jesus Christ can direct a surrendered person one step at a time. A dramatic feeling is not required for a faithful response. Stay with truth long enough to choose differently this time.

When you ask for advice, what answer are you secretly hoping to receive? Which choice best reflects wisdom rather than repetition?

Jesus, I give up the illusion that I can secure every result. Lead me in the work that is mine and release me from carrying what is not. Amen.
