When a large purchase becomes an identity statement
Faithfulness in small things matters to God.
Luke 16:10
When a large purchase becomes an identity statement. You can look completely fine on the outside while this is doing a number on you inside. The danger is not that the feeling showed up. The important question is what you permit the emotion to decide for you. Financial pressure is real, but money is still a stewardship issue rather than an identity issue. Your security cannot finally rest in a balance that changes. Faithfulness does not require control over what happens next. Let obedience, not outcome management, measure today's faithfulness.
What part of this situation have you mistaken for a final definition? How would that change your next response?
Jesus Christ, show me what is automatic in me but not aligned with You. Give me clarity and courage to respond differently this time. Amen.
