When comfort eating becomes emotional management

Even ordinary choices can be made for the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31

When comfort eating becomes emotional management. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. Honesty and captivity are not the same thing. Keep the event in its proper place: part of your story, not the source of your identity. A pattern is worth confronting when it repeatedly makes the decision before you do. Jesus Christ did not free you so another appetite could become your master. There is no need to make this sound better before you bring it to Christ. Let Him meet you at the level where the real struggle is happening.

Where have you turned a circumstance into an identity statement? Which sentence needs to lose your agreement?

Jesus Christ, I surrender what I cannot guarantee or force. Let me do my part with integrity and leave Your part in Your hands. Amen.
