When discipline feels boring

Not everything permissible should be allowed to master you.

1 Corinthians 6:12

When discipline feels boring. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. You can be honest about what happened without becoming what happened. Wisdom sees clearly; captivity lets the circumstance become a label. A habit becomes dangerous when it quietly starts deciding for you. Obedience can become a stronger pattern than the appetite that once led you. You do not need to clean this up before you bring it to Christ. He can work with what is true, not what merely sounds respectable.

What conclusion about yourself did this circumstance seem to confirm? What would change if Christ's words had more authority than that interpretation?
