When exercise becomes punishment

Psalm 139:14

Your body is fearfully and wonderfully made by God.

When exercise becomes punishment. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. There is a difference between acknowledging reality and surrendering your identity to it. One is wisdom. The other is captivity. Your body is not your god and it is not your enemy. It is temporary, valuable, and worth stewarding under the lordship of Jesus Christ. Bring the real problem to Jesus Christ, not the polished version. He already knows what is underneath.

Lord Jesus Christ, I bring You the part I can explain and the part I cannot. Keep me from reacting out of fear, shame, pride, or loneliness. Teach me to move with You. Amen.
