When generosity feels risky
Diligent planning tends toward abundance, hurry tends toward lack.
Proverbs 21:5
When generosity feels risky. This is where faith gets practical. Your first internal conclusion may sound convincing because it is familiar. Repeated thoughts can sound authoritative without actually being true. A number in an account can affect choices without being allowed to define you. Bring the financial reality under Christ's lordship instead of letting it become your verdict. A new direction can begin with one choice made under Christ's authority. Place this decision under the lordship of Jesus Christ and move from there.
If a person you love asked for biblical counsel here, what would you offer them? What keeps you from receiving the same wisdom?
Jesus Christ, help me see this situation clearly instead of through the story fear has written. Give me courage to act on truth and peace about what remains outside my control. Amen.
