When loneliness makes the wrong person look right. It is easy to sound spiritual until this is the thing sitting in front of you. The situation may remain the same while something important changes in you. A different response is evidence that the old script is not in charge. Love and wisdom are not enemies. Jesus Christ can keep your heart tender without making your judgment blind. You can stop the next chapter from being written on autopilot. The next chapter can begin with a different response.

Which part of this are you treating as if everything depends on you? What would change if you trusted Jesus Christ with the result?

Jesus, I stop treating control as if it were the same thing as faithfulness. Give me courage to be faithful without demanding certainty. Amen.
