When no feels rude in your mouth

Let your yes be yes and your no be no.

Matthew 5:37

When no feels rude in your mouth. That sounds small until it is your Tuesday morning. You can tell the truth about what is happening without surrendering to it. The circumstance is real, but it is not allowed to become your master. A boundary is not automatically punishment or rejection. Jesus Christ never modeled unlimited access to every demand. Give yourself enough room to respond on purpose. The goal is not speed; it is a response that agrees with Jesus Christ.

What responsibility has God truly placed in your hands here? How would your next step change if you stopped trying to manage God's part?

Lord Jesus Christ, receive the part I can describe and the part that still feels tangled. Keep my emotions from becoming my master, and teach me to follow You in this. Amen.
