When obedience costs more than expected

Faith grows through hearing the word of Christ.

When obedience costs more than expected. It is easy to sound spiritual until this is the thing sitting in front of you. The situation may remain the same while something important changes in you. A different response is evidence that the old script is not in charge. Faith is not a performance review of how consistent your feelings have been. Let the person and work of Jesus Christ carry what your feelings cannot. You can stop the next chapter from being written on autopilot. The next chapter can begin with a different response.

Where is control masquerading as responsibility? How could you remain responsible without trying to become sovereign?

Lord, reveal where my interpretation has gone beyond what is true. Help me respond to what is true and leave the ending in Your hands. Amen.
