When obedience needs a calendar. This is where faith gets practical. Pay attention to the interpretation forming underneath the circumstance. A thought deserves examination before it receives your agreement. A pattern is worth confronting when it repeatedly makes the decision before you do. Obedience can become a stronger pattern than the appetite that once led you. A different pattern often begins with one unglamorous act of obedience. A faithful next step can open a different path than the one you usually take.

Imagine this problem belonged to someone you care about; what would you want them to remember? What would it look like to take your own wise counsel seriously?

Jesus Christ, I release my demand to control how this situation ends. Give me courage to be faithful without demanding certainty. Amen.
