When retirement changes how people see you

You are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.

Ephesians 2:10

When retirement changes how people see you. This is where faith gets practical. Notice the conclusion that appears almost automatically. Repeated thoughts can sound authoritative without actually being true. Your value is not created by what you accomplish. Your life is held in Christ before it is evaluated by people. One faithful decision can interrupt more than you realize. Place this decision under the lordship of Jesus Christ and move from there.

What wise counsel would you give a person you love if this were their story? What keeps you from receiving the same wisdom?

Lord Jesus, stop the reflex in me that keeps repeating what You are trying to change. Make my mind steady and my heart teachable so I can choose obedience. Amen.
