Discipline can feel unpleasant now and still produce good fruit later.

When scrolling turns into an hour. It is easy to sound spiritual until this is the thing sitting in front of you. Sometimes the breakthrough is not a dramatic change in circumstances. Sometimes it is catching the old pattern before you obey it again. A habit becomes dangerous when it starts deciding for you. Jesus Christ did not free you so another appetite could quietly become your master. Let truth interrupt the reflex before the reflex becomes another chapter.

What are you trying to control because you are afraid to trust God with the outcome?

Jesus Christ, show me what is true in this situation and expose the story I have added to it. Give me wisdom for my part, courage to obey You, and enough trust to leave the outcome in Your hands. Amen.
