When success becomes your personality

Your old life is not the final word, Christ now lives in you.

Galatians 2:20

When success becomes your personality. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. You can be honest about what happened without becoming what happened. What happened can inform your story without becoming your name. Achievement and failure are both too small to name you. Your life is held in Christ before it is evaluated by people. You do not need to clean this up before you bring it to Christ. Nothing beneath the surface is hidden from Him.

What conclusion about yourself did this circumstance seem to confirm? How does that story compare with what Christ says is true?

Jesus Christ, I place both the clear part and the confusing part before You. Steady me where fear and pride want to take over, and lead me faithfully. Amen.
