When the news cycle lives in your nervous system

Do not fear, God is with you and will strengthen and uphold you.

Isaiah 41:10

When the news cycle lives in your nervous system. Nobody puts that on a vision board, but people live it every day. Catch the conclusion forming underneath your first reaction. The old script is strongest when it never has to answer to Scripture. Fear is skilled at turning possibility into a forecast. Uncertainty does not remove Jesus Christ from the future you cannot see. A dramatic feeling is not required for a faithful response. One truthful response can keep the old pattern from writing another page.

When you ask for advice, what answer are you secretly hoping to receive? What answer would require genuine change?

Jesus, interrupt the automatic response in me that does not agree with Your truth. Guard my heart and lead me into the response that reflects You. Amen.
