When work becomes the only place you feel competent

Commit your work to the Lord and let Him establish what is His.

Proverbs 16:3

When work becomes the only place you feel competent. Nobody puts that on a vision board, but people live it every day. Pay attention to what this situation is quietly asking you to believe. Familiar reactions survive by outrunning careful truth. A job can be important without becoming the source of your worth. Let Christ define your worth while you steward the work in front of you. Change does not always arrive with a powerful feeling. Let truth be sufficient for the next faithful choice.

Are you open to a different response, or only to confirmation of the familiar one? How can you tell the difference today?

Lord Jesus, make the truth clearer than the story I keep repeating. Lead me in what is mine to do and help me release what is not. Amen.
