When work follows you into bed

Jesus withdrew, prayed, and did not respond to every demand.

Mark 1:35-38

When work follows you into bed. That sounds small until it is your Tuesday morning. Honesty about the circumstance is not unbelief. The circumstance is real, but it is not allowed to become your master. Saying where your responsibility ends is not the same as refusing to love. Let Christ teach you the difference between love and endless availability. Do not let urgency make the decision for you. The goal is not speed; it is a response that agrees with Jesus Christ.

Where does your responsibility end in this situation? How would your next step change if you stopped trying to manage God's part?

Jesus Christ, I bring You the pattern that keeps trying to decide before I do. Strengthen me to choose obedience where repetition once felt automatic. Amen.
