When worship feels difficult

Jesus never promised a trouble-free life, but He has overcome the world.

John 16:33

When worship feels difficult. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. Facing the truth of the situation does not require handing it your identity. Wisdom sees clearly; captivity lets the circumstance become a label. Christian faith rests on Someone stronger than your changing emotions. Trust Jesus Christ, crucified and risen, when your feelings are inconsistent. Prayer is not the place to perform being fine. He can work with what is true, not what merely sounds respectable.

Which label are you putting on yourself because of what happened? What would change if Christ's words had more authority than that interpretation?

Lord Jesus, do not let yesterday's reflex govern today's response. Give me a new response that reflects Your truth rather than my history. Amen.
