When you are carrying both sides of a relationship. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. There is no virtue in denial, but there is also no freedom in self-definition by circumstance. Wisdom sees clearly; captivity lets the circumstance become a label. A loving heart still needs wise boundaries and clear eyes. Jesus Christ can keep your heart tender without making your judgment blind. Stop presenting God with the polished summary. He can work with what is true, not what merely sounds respectable.
