When you are embarrassed by your doubt

Hebrews 12:2

Fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith.

When you are embarrassed by your doubt. That sounds small until it is your Tuesday morning. You do not have to deny what is happening. Christianity is not pretending. The question is whether the circumstance gets to become lord over the meaning of your life. Christian faith is not confidence in your own ability to stay strong. It is trust in Jesus Christ, crucified and risen, when your feelings are inconsistent. You are allowed to slow down long enough to choose obedience instead of repetition.

What part of this situation belongs to you, and what part are you trying to carry for God?

Lord Jesus Christ, I bring You the part I can explain and the part I cannot. Keep me from reacting out of fear, shame, pride, or loneliness. Teach me to move with You. Amen.
