When you are embarrassed by your doubt

Fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith.

Hebrews 12:2

When you are embarrassed by your doubt. That sounds small until it is your Tuesday morning. You are not being faithless by admitting this is hard. What is happening can be acknowledged without becoming the ruler of your identity. Christian faith is not confidence in your ability to keep yourself spiritually strong. Return to Jesus Christ Himself rather than measuring faith by your emotional temperature. A pause can keep an old pattern from taking over. A deliberate response can interrupt what has repeated for years.

What can you faithfully do, and what remains outside your control? What can you entrust to Jesus Christ after you have been faithful with your part?

Lord Jesus, You see what I can explain and what I still cannot name. Lead me away from fear-driven reactions and into obedience with You. Amen.
