When you are good at a job you no longer want
Do not grow weary in doing good, there is a harvest in due time.
Galatians 6:9
When you are good at a job you no longer want. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. You can be honest about what happened without becoming what happened. What happened can inform your story without becoming your name. Career success and career disappointment are both temporary places of stewardship. Jesus Christ is Lord in the office, the job search, and every transition between them. You do not need to clean this up before you bring it to Christ. Nothing beneath the surface is hidden from Him.
What conclusion about yourself did this circumstance seem to confirm? How does that story compare with what Christ says is true?
Jesus, I do not want familiarity to outrank obedience in this moment. Make my thinking clear and my emotions steady enough to follow You faithfully. Amen.
