When you are grateful and frustrated at the same time. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. Honesty and captivity are not the same thing. Wisdom sees clearly; captivity lets the circumstance become a label. Your body is temporary and still worthy of wise stewardship. Your body belongs in faithful stewardship, not worship, shame, or neglect. There is no need to make this sound better before you bring it to Christ. He can work with what is true, not what merely sounds respectable.

Where have you turned a circumstance into an identity statement? What would change if Christ's words had more authority than that interpretation?

Jesus, I do not want an old pattern making this decision for me. Steady me in the moment between trigger and response, and lead me there. Amen.
