When you are grieving the family you wish you had
Colossians 3:13
Forgiveness is part of following Christ, but it does not erase wisdom.
When you are grieving the family you wish you had. You can look completely fine on the outside while this is doing a number on you inside. The first feeling is not always the problem. The problem is what you let that feeling authorize. Fear can authorize control. Rejection can authorize chasing. Shame can authorize hiding. Exhaustion can authorize choices you would not make from a clear mind. Family history explains some things, but it does not get to prophesy your future. Jesus Christ can interrupt what has repeated for generations. The goal today is not to control the outcome. It is to stay aligned with Christ while the outcome is still unknown.
What would change if you stopped treating this moment like a verdict?
Jesus Christ, I release my need to control how this turns out. Help me steward what You actually placed in my hands and trust You with what You did not. Amen.
