When you are healing from church hurt

Isaiah 43:18-19

God can do a new thing without requiring you to deny the past.

When you are healing from church hurt. That sounds small until it is your Tuesday morning. You do not have to deny what is happening. Christianity is not pretending. The question is whether the circumstance gets to become lord over the meaning of your life. Healing does not require pretending it did not hurt. Jesus Christ can meet you in the wound without letting the wound become your identity. You are allowed to slow down long enough to choose obedience instead of repetition.

What part of this situation belongs to you, and what part are you trying to carry for God?

Jesus Christ, I release my need to control how this turns out. Help me steward what You actually placed in my hands and trust You with what You did not. Amen.
