When you are tempted to make faith about outcomes

John 16:33

Jesus never promised a trouble-free life, but He has overcome the world.

When you are tempted to make faith about outcomes. You can look completely fine on the outside while this is doing a number on you inside. The first feeling is not always the problem. The problem is what you let that feeling authorize. Fear can authorize control. Rejection can authorize chasing. Shame can authorize hiding. Exhaustion can authorize choices you would not make from a clear mind. Christian faith is not confidence in your own ability to stay strong. It is trust in Jesus Christ, crucified and risen, when your feelings are inconsistent. The goal today is not to control the outcome. It is to stay aligned with Christ while the outcome is still unknown.

What would change if you stopped treating this moment like a verdict?

Jesus, I do not want an old pattern making today's decision for me. Renew my mind, steady my emotions, and lead me in truth. You are Lord here too. Amen.
