When you are tired and your child needs patience anyway
Children are a gift from the Lord, not property to control.
Psalm 127:3
When you are tired and your child needs patience anyway. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. You can name the loss, mistake, rejection, or limitation without naming yourself by it. Keep the event in its proper place: part of your story, not the source of your identity. Your child matters enormously to you, but their life was never meant to rest entirely on your shoulders. Jesus Christ loves your child beyond the limits of your ability to protect, fix, or direct. You can be specific and unguarded with Jesus Christ. Let Him meet you at the level where the real struggle is happening.
Which belief about yourself feels true mainly because this circumstance hurts? Which sentence needs to lose your agreement?
Jesus Christ, I refuse to let a familiar pattern become my automatic answer again. Reorder my thinking and direct my next step under Your lordship. Amen.
