When you are unemployed longer than expected
Ask God for wisdom when the next move is unclear.
James 1:5
When you are unemployed longer than expected. The situation may be ordinary, but the story you attach to it can shape the whole day. The urge to end the discomfort can make any fast answer look wise. Ask whether the response is wise, not merely whether it makes the discomfort disappear. Productivity is a responsibility, not a savior. Your calling to faithfulness is deeper than any title on a business card. You can stop demanding a complete solution from one difficult moment. Decide whether fear, habit, or Jesus Christ will lead the next response.
Which part of today's Scripture needs to interrupt your reflex? What would it look like to answer the circumstance with that truth?
Jesus Christ, interrupt the part of me that wants to react before listening to truth. Make my mind steady and my heart teachable so I can choose obedience. Amen.
