Bring anxiety to God in prayer and His peace will guard your heart and mind.

Philippians 4:6-7

When you are waiting for test results. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. Honesty and captivity are not the same thing. What happened can inform your story without becoming your name. An anxious prediction can feel certain without actually being true. Jesus Christ tells the truth about your future even when you cannot see it. There is no need to make this sound better before you bring it to Christ. Nothing beneath the surface is hidden from Him.

Where have you turned a circumstance into an identity statement? How does that story compare with what Christ says is true?

Lord Jesus, make the truth clearer than the story I keep repeating. Give me courage to act on truth and peace about what remains outside my control. Amen.
