When you are waiting for your child to come back around

Habakkuk 2:3

God's appointed time may seem slow, but His word is not late.

When you are waiting for your child to come back around. That sounds small until it is your Tuesday morning. You do not have to deny what is happening. Christianity is not pretending. The question is whether the circumstance gets to become lord over the meaning of your life. Waiting is not proof that God has forgotten you. Jesus Christ is present in the part of the story that has no visible movement yet. You are allowed to slow down long enough to choose obedience instead of repetition.

What part of this situation belongs to you, and what part are you trying to carry for God?

Jesus, I do not want an old pattern making today's decision for me. Renew my mind, steady my emotions, and lead me in truth. You are Lord here too. Amen.
