When you have prayed the same prayer for years. It is easy to sound spiritual until this is the thing sitting in front of you. Do not overlook the kind of breakthrough that happens in your response. Seeing the reflex before following it gives truth room to lead. Delay is not evidence that God has forgotten your name. Let Christ meet you in the delay instead of interpreting the delay as rejection. Pause before the old reflex becomes another decision. A faithful interruption can keep the same story from repeating.

Lord Jesus Christ, receive the part I can describe and the part that still feels tangled. Steady me where fear and pride want to take over, and lead me faithfully. Amen.
