When you have to choose truth over mood. This is where faith gets practical. Your first internal conclusion may sound convincing because it is familiar. A thought deserves examination before it receives your agreement. Christian faith rests on Someone stronger than your changing emotions. Faith can be honest about weakness while still resting in the finished work of Christ. A new direction can begin with one choice made under Christ's authority. A faithful next step can open a different path than the one you usually take.

Jesus Christ, I bring You the pattern that keeps trying to decide before I do. Give me a new response that reflects Your truth rather than my history. Amen.
