When you keep returning to the same unhealthy coping tool

Discipline can feel unpleasant now and still produce good fruit later.

Hebrews 12:11

When you keep returning to the same unhealthy coping tool. This is where faith gets practical. Notice the conclusion that appears almost automatically. A thought deserves examination before it receives your agreement. Repeated behavior can become a master long before you call it one. Let Christ retrain what repetition has made automatic. One faithful decision can interrupt more than you realize. A faithful next step can open a different path than the one you usually take.

What wise counsel would you give a person you love if this were their story? What would it look like to take your own wise counsel seriously?

Jesus Christ, expose every assumption in this situation that is pretending to be fact. Give me wisdom without panic, courage without control, and trust without pretending. Amen.
