When you know Christian language but need Jesus Christ
Jesus never promised a trouble-free life, but He has overcome the world.
John 16:33
When you know Christian language but need Jesus Christ. That sounds small until it is your Tuesday morning. Christian faith makes room for reality without bowing to it. What is happening can be acknowledged without becoming the ruler of your identity. Christian faith rests on Someone stronger than your changing emotions. The cross and resurrection remain true on the days your confidence is weak. You are allowed to take a moment before you respond. A deliberate response can interrupt what has repeated for years.
Which piece belongs to your obedience rather than your anxiety? What can you entrust to Jesus Christ after you have been faithful with your part?
Jesus, I need Your truth to be stronger than what I have repeated before. Give me a new response that reflects Your truth rather than my history. Amen.
