When you need a boundary with your own habits

Guarding your heart is wisdom, not cruelty.

Proverbs 4:23

When you need a boundary with your own habits. That sounds small until it is your Tuesday morning. You are not being faithless by admitting this is hard. The circumstance is real, but it is not allowed to become your master. Limits can be loving even when another person dislikes them. You can remain loving while refusing access that continually violates wisdom. A pause can keep an old pattern from taking over. The goal is not speed; it is a response that agrees with Jesus Christ.

What can you faithfully do, and what remains outside your control? How would your next step change if you stopped trying to manage God's part?

Lord Jesus, make the truth clearer than the story I keep repeating. Make me obedient in my responsibility and surrendered about the outcome. Amen.
