When you need certainty before obedience
2 Timothy 1:7
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
When you need certainty before obedience. This is the kind of moment that can expose what has really been running underneath. You may not control the other person, the timing, the number, the diagnosis, or the outcome. You do control what you agree with and what you bring to Jesus Christ. Fear is loud because it wants to be treated like prophecy. Jesus Christ tells the truth about the future even when you cannot see it. Do the next faithful thing, then stop trying to carry the part that belongs to God.
Which reaction feels automatic here, and what would obedience look like instead?
Lord Jesus Christ, I bring You the part I can explain and the part I cannot. Keep me from reacting out of fear, shame, pride, or loneliness. Teach me to move with You. Amen.
