When you need people to agree with you to feel secure

You are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.

Ephesians 2:10

When you need people to agree with you to feel secure. This is the kind of moment that can expose what has really been running underneath. The part you cannot control may be the part making the most noise. You can still choose what receives your agreement and what you place in Christ's hands. Your value is not created by what you accomplish. Return your identity to the One who created and redeemed you. Handle the part Jesus Christ has placed in your hands. Leave the outcome where it belongs: in God's hands.

Are you asking Jesus Christ to lead, or asking Him to bless what you already decided? What would obedience require if the familiar answer is not the faithful one?

Lord, I release the part of me that believes peace depends on controlling the outcome. Teach me where my responsibility ends and surrender begins. Amen.
