When you need to remember Jesus Christ is still Lord

Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life.

John 11:25

When you need to remember Jesus Christ is still Lord. This is where faith gets practical. Your first internal conclusion may sound convincing because it is familiar. Bring the conclusion into the light before you build a response on top of it. Christian hope does not require a painless story or a predictable ending. Let the risen Jesus Christ, not the present disappointment, define what is ultimately possible. A new direction can begin with one choice made under Christ's authority. Start with the choice that is actually in your hands today.

If a person you love asked for biblical counsel here, what would you offer them? Where are you asking yourself to live by a harsher standard?

Jesus, interrupt the automatic response in me that does not agree with Your truth. Teach me to choose what is faithful even when the old response feels easier. Amen.
