When you want to protect them from every consequence
James 1:19
Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
When you want to protect them from every consequence. This is where faith gets practical. Pay attention to the sentence your mind writes next. Is it telling you that you are unwanted, unsafe, behind, foolish, trapped, or forgotten? That sentence matters because repeated thoughts eventually start sounding like facts. Your child is deeply loved by you, but belongs to God before they belong to your expectations. Jesus Christ can lead where your control cannot reach. One honest decision under the lordship of Jesus Christ can be the beginning of a completely different pattern.
What would you advise someone you love to do if they were standing where you are?
Jesus, interrupt whatever is automatic in me that does not look like Your truth. Give me a clear mind, a guarded heart, and the courage to do the next faithful thing. Amen.
