When your adult child makes choices you cannot control. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. Reality can be accepted without becoming your identity. Jesus Christ gets the final word about who you are. You can honor where you came from without repeating everything that came with it. Jesus Christ can interrupt what has traveled through generations. The honest version belongs in prayer. He already knows what is underneath the words.

What interpretation are you carrying that goes beyond what actually happened? Did Jesus Christ ever say that about you?

Lord Jesus, I surrender the outcome I keep trying to manage. Make me faithful with my responsibility and peaceful about what belongs to You. Amen.
