When your boss takes credit for your work. It is easy to sound spiritual until this is the thing sitting in front of you. Sometimes nothing outside you changes first. Refusing the automatic response can be the beginning of freedom. Your work deserves stewardship, but it does not deserve your identity. Jesus Christ is Lord in the office, the job search, and every transition between them. Give truth a chance to interrupt what usually happens next. Let truth, not habit, decide what you do next.

Lord Jesus, nothing about this is hidden from You, including what I do not understand. Guard me from reacting out of fear or wounded pride; lead me in Your truth. Amen.
