When your child is not who you pictured
Parents are called to train children with intention.
Proverbs 22:6
When your child is not who you pictured. Nobody puts that on a vision board, but people live it every day. Pause long enough to hear the belief hiding beneath the emotion. Truth needs a moment to speak before habit takes the microphone. Your love for your child is real, but love does not give you control over every outcome. Your child ultimately belongs to God, and Jesus Christ can lead where your reach ends. You do not have to wait until your emotions catch up. Choose what is true even if the old feeling is still present.
Are you asking Jesus Christ to lead, or asking Him to bless what you already decided? Where might Scripture disagree with the response you prefer?
Lord Jesus Christ, I bring You what I understand and what I cannot make sense of. Give me a clear response that reflects Your truth rather than my panic. Amen.
