When your heart wants what wisdom is warning you about
Biblical love is patient, truthful, and not self-seeking.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
When your heart wants what wisdom is warning you about. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. You can name the loss, mistake, rejection, or limitation without naming yourself by it. Christ is still the authority over your identity. Caring about someone does not require ignoring what is true. Follow Christ in the relationship instead of letting the relationship become lord. There is no need to make this sound better before you bring it to Christ. Jesus Christ already sees the fear, motive, grief, and hope underneath it.
Which belief about yourself feels true mainly because this circumstance hurts? Where does the story conflict with your identity in Jesus Christ?
Jesus, I bring You the facts, the emotions, and the questions I cannot resolve. Teach me to move from truth, not from the pressure of this moment. Amen.
