When your past keeps trying to introduce you. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. Facing the truth of the situation does not require handing it your identity. Let truth describe the circumstance without allowing it to define your worth. Performance can describe what you did, but it cannot establish what you are worth. Return your identity to the One who created and redeemed you. Prayer is not the place to perform being fine. He is not surprised by what the polished version leaves out.

Which label are you putting on yourself because of what happened? What part of that story needs to be surrendered to truth?

Lord Jesus, You see what I can explain and what I still cannot name. Give me a clear response that reflects Your truth rather than my panic. Amen.
