Anchor for the Soul

By Jackie Overstreet October 1, 2025

Why nothing else can hold you steady when life keeps shifting

Everyone’s chasing anchors.

Titles. Relationships. Paychecks. Followers.

But there’s a secret most don’t want to admit:

If you just keep grinding, eventually you’ll feel secure.

You won’t.

Security doesn’t come from climbing faster—it comes from choosing where you plant your weight.

Jesus Christ is the anchor for your soul.

Not because you’ve got it all figured out, but because you never will.

That’s the gift. That’s the freedom.

When He steadies you, everything else becomes optional. Money, applause, recognition—they stop bossing you around. And the people who used to hold your past over your head? Their grip weakens.

There’s a strange beauty in that kind of grounding:

You look like you’re unbothered.

You sound like you’re unshaken.

You live like you’ve got a secret.

And you do.

The secret is Him.

The One who doesn’t change.

The One who knows the thoughts you haven’t dared to say out loud.

The One who is never surprised and never late.

Let that settle in your spirit.

He is the anchor. Everything else is just weather.

Focus Point:

When Jesus steadies you, storms stop being threats—they become proof you’re still tethered.

If this stirred something in you, share it with someone who’s been searching for their anchor. Your simple act could be the very lifeline they’ve been waiting for.

Then, when you’re ready to dig deeper, pick up the Soul Esteem Freedom Journal—90 days of guided clarity designed to help you practice anchoring your identity where it cannot be shaken.
