The Chef’s Kiss

By Jackie Overstreet September 30, 2025

How to see yourself as God’s perfect work-in-progress instead of a mistake

It’s that moment.

The one where distractions go quiet and the fog clears. The one where you realize all the things you let pull you off-course weren’t just inconveniences—they were tests. The one where you see it was never about the destination; it was about who you were becoming on the journey.

That moment is Jesus Christ’s “chef’s kiss.”

Perfection from heaven’s kitchen.

Where the world borrowed a phrase to describe a meal, He originated it to describe you.

Strive harder, get to the finish line, arrive.

The Kingdom truth? One foot in front of the other. Watch God work.

When He made you, He made no mistakes. Say it again: when He made you, He made no mistakes.

You are not a draft.

You are not a second thought.

You are chef’s kiss perfection, hand-formed from dust, breathed into by the living God.

If you’ve been battling to understand your purpose, start here:

Break the dream into bite-size pieces.

Pray and ask your Father how to execute.

Stop getting overwhelmed.

Start focusing.

Execution isn’t the enemy. Fear is.

Your life isn’t microwaveable—it’s marinated.

Every ingredient matters.

He said if you seek Him with your whole heart, you’ll find Him. And even if your heart is fragmented, bring Him the pieces. He will lead you on this journey, giving instructions along the way.

You are something the world has never seen.

Interdependent. Necessary. A catalyst.

Take out your pen. Start dreaming again.

And speak life into those walking alongside you—because you’re shaping more people than you even know.

If each of us believed Jesus Christ is the Son of God, put our faith in Him, and put one foot in front of the other, there is nothing we could not accomplish.

Remember this: when He made you, He said, “That’s good.”

Chef’s kiss. Perfection.

Focus Point: Stop doubting the recipe. You’re already God’s chef’s kiss.

Share this with someone who needs to be reminded they’re not a mistake—they’re a masterpiece in progress.
