How to Trust Biblical Truth Instead of Cultural Trends and Your Own Mind
Trust what's true, not what's trending.
Here's what we can trust about the manuscript: the reliability, the historical accuracy,
the prophetic fulfillment, the archaeological confirmation, the transformational power.
But if you are trusting your mind, you have made yourself a God.
Let me explain.
My mind became less cluttered when I surrendered to Christ's authority. Whatever we
are told not to do biblically, it's not to deny you joy—it's protection.
God already knows the long-range plan.
We live in a "wham bam thank you ma'am" society. While the masses are inundated with
having a good time, there comes a point when you have to realize the ramifications of
your choices.
Choices have consequences mentally and emotionally. The weight it puts on us when
trying to rectify those choices is unbearable.
Counseling offices, psychologist and therapist offices are filled with people
overwhelmed with the amount of decisions they have to make in a given day.
Add deliberate debauchery to that. What do you have left?
When the Lord tells us that sin is fun for a season, what does that really mean? It's fun for
the time being, but the aftermath is extremely stressful.
Am I saying you should not live a little? Not at all.
One of the most important things we can ever do in this life is to be present in every
single moment we're in. Not rushing to get to the next, but being present and taking in
the moment—the exact moment, the actual people you interact with.
Training our minds to be physically present in every moment is an art all within itself.
Focus is the game, and all the other things will follow.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the manuscript you can trust. Not the trending opinions.
Not the cultural shifts. Not even your own mind when it's not surrendered to His
authority.
"You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."
(Luke 12:40)
If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready.
