Seeing the hand of God in the smallest places life hides
I spent time this morning just thanking God for not giving me everything I thought I needed or wanted.
Because if He had, I might’ve mistaken comfort for calling.
There’s a sweetness that comes when you can finally look back and recognize that unanswered prayers were protection in disguise. The things you asked for, the ones that didn’t come, were often just novocaine. They dulled the ache but never cured it.
I used to think my blind spots were failures. Now I see them as holy invitations, gentle reminders that growth doesn’t always look like gain. Sometimes, God grows us by pruning us.
As a little girl, I would fix my eyes on anything that distracted me from the pain. I didn’t yet know what it meant to fix my eyes on Jesus Christ. Now, I do.
The older I get, the more I see that challenges aren’t punishments; they’re nutrients, divine vitamins for the soul.
Your mind, will, and intellect are the control center of your life. Guard them. Feed them truth. You don’t have to fall prey to every thought that crosses your mind.
Scripture says, “Take every thought captive.” That’s not a suggestion — it’s a strategy.
The work begins when you finally stop numbing and start noticing. The moment you let go of the aspirin approach to life and reach for the Word instead, you’ll discover what healing actually feels like.
Focus Point: The pain isn’t punishment — it’s preparation. Let that settle into your spirit.
