How Doing the Opposite of Your Emotions Creates Breakthrough
Most people wouldn't know I struggle with focus because from the outside, I look like
everyone else who gets things done.
But the truth? I actually have to fight for focus every single day.
I used to get frustrated with myself because I was always starting over and over and over
again. Until I remembered something someone said: there's no shame in struggle.
Struggle just means you believe you can do something and you refuse to give up.
Here's what changed everything for me: I started doing the opposite.
When I wasn't feeling it, I got up and got it done anyway. When my emotions said "quit," I
said "continue." When my mind said "tomorrow," I said "today."
It started with small wins. A little list in my phone. Things that might not seem big to
others, but for me, they were the first steps in breaking cycles. The more I began to do the opposite of what I felt like doing, the more I began to see
chains break off my life and mind.
Jesus Christ never allows us to see glimpses of the person we're called to be without
giving us a roadmap to get there. When God provides a vision, He also provides the way.
But here's the thing about staying stuck: if you don't forge new pathways, you'll keep
walking the same worn-out roads.
The hard part isn't knowing what to do. The hard part is doing it when you don't feel like
it.
My heart's desire is to help people find the courage to try again. To pull them into a place
where they can see that small wins create big breakthroughs.
What would happen if you did the opposite of what your emotions are telling you today?
