Real Change Isn't What You Start Wanting—It's What You Stop Wanting
Real change isn't what you start wanting. It's what you stop wanting.
When you quit smoking, you can't stand the smell of cigarettes. When you get healthy,
fast food tastes like cardboard. Your palate changes before your mind catches up.
The same thing happens when Jesus Christ begins His restoration work in your life.
You'll know you're different when the things that used to comfort you start to repel you.
When the drama that once felt familiar now feels exhausting. When the relationships
that used to feel normal now feel toxic.
This isn't about becoming judgmental. It's about your internal compass recalibrating to
God's design.
We get so focused on what we should want that we miss the real indicator: what we've
stopped craving.
The coping mechanisms that once felt like lifelines start feeling like anchors. The
distractions that used to numb the pain start feeling empty. The patterns that used to
feel safe start feeling suffocating.
Jesus designed you for something better than survival mode.
What used to satisfy you in desperation won't satisfy you in restoration. What used to
feel like enough when you were desperate feels like settling when you're aligned with His
purpose.
What have you stopped wanting that used to feel essential?
