How to Pack for Your Future Instead of Carrying Your Past
Here's what travelers know that you don't.
They pack differently.
When you're going somewhere you've never been, you don't pack for where you are. You
pack for where you're going.
But most people pack their future with their past.
"Chance favors the prepared mind." But here's what nobody tells you about preparation:
You can't pack disappointments, frustrations, and past traumas for a trip to your destiny.
To do that means you're allowing the enemy to infect you with something that was only meant to happen once.
It's challenging to choose to think past certain things. But here's your ray of
sunshine, ponder this...
Fast-forward one year, do you want to be in the same place you're in right now?
Now fast-forward 50 years.
Would you be okay with the things you allowed to weigh heavily on your mind, repeatedly hindering you from truly living the life you were meant to live?
That's one of the scariest but most motivating thoughts that helped me throughout my
life.
The thought of fast-forwarding ahead a year and being in the same place, talking
about the same things, rehearsing the same thoughts. Umm, no thank you!
Your life, just like mine, was meant for more.
Here's the traveler's secret: start preparing as if you have everything you need.
As if you're packing to go on a trip.
Then make two lists. One when you have money, one when you don't.
So many times, people say, "I'll start when..." But successful people don't romanticize
someone else's success without being mature enough to acknowledge what it took to
get there.
These lists will help you stay on track.
List one...
When you have money. Short tasks (anything you can get done in a day). Long
tasks (anything that takes a week).
List two...
When you don't have money. Short tasks. Long tasks.
If money isn't an issue, the only thing stopping you is organized time.
If you're working a regular job like most people, commit to waking up earlier or put 2-3 hours
each evening into it.
You won't regret it.
When you begin to divide your tasks like this and set aside time to tackle the list, you're taking the first steps to reclaiming your life.
As you begin to submerge into whatever you believe you're called to do, you become
less interested in what's going on around you and more inundated with your own life.
The more you submerge yourself in it, the more excited you become.
Why? Because you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was the ultimate traveler.
He saw the end from the beginning.
He packed for resurrection while everyone else was packing for crucifixion.
